Hospital and Doctor Philosophy/Origin
The year was 1996, when Florida Pets and Vets first opened its doors to the public. From humble beginnings, the hospital emerged and blossomed to the facility it is today. Founder and head veterinarian, Dr. Anwar W. Basta Senior, built the hospital with his two sons from the empty shell of a storefront. The goal was very simple: create an animal care facility that provides quality care at affordable pricing. The first three employees were family. These humble beginnings have been imprinted in the philosophy of the clinic today.
Florida Pets and Vets has, in the past ten years, grown to three storefronts at the main location on Miami Gardens Drive and a satellite clinic in Miami Beach with over 15 employees and staff members. Coincidentally, Dr Basta Sr. has a son that has gone into veterinary medicine and become a doctor. Dr. Amgad A. Basta has taken over the practice and is moving it forward into the dawn of new diagnostics and advanced medicine and surgery.
The goals of this practice are still just as simple, yet with the advancement of veterinary medicine it has taken a slight turn. Our priority is our patients and clients. Your pet's care and well-being is the centerpiece and focus of our practice today. Our goal is to provide the least invasive and most therapeutic medicine and surgery for your pet’s wellness. Oh yes, at affordable rates. In this effort we have integrated natural, homeopathic, and modern day medicine along with some TLC in the treatment and care of our patients.
At Florida Pets and Vets we emphasize customer service and staff competency. Our staff is well-trained and knowledgeable to assist you with most of your questions and concerns. Our doctors are just a phone call away 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We treat you like family with a warmth and feel of home.
